Series 2 of RG 87-153 consists of resurveys of private claims and concessions, conducted in ca. 1807-1877. Many of the records herein were prepared by John Mullett and Joseph Fletcher. They provide information on name, date, coordinates, bearings, distances, acreages, claim numbers, nature of witness trees, and sometimes contain maps.

John Mullett and his son, James H. Mullett, were government surveyors in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
